Artists Statement

As an artist I feel that my work has grown so different from where I started, my photographs are much the same, I have a tendency to see aesthetically pleasing images almost anywhere, though I do tend more towards nature or architecture, especially as one can do so much with architectural photographs. I hope to expand my capabilities in shooting people, both candidly and in portraiture. I have also improved and expanded on my abilities in drawing and using other mediums, even in so much as finding a style that suits me, both spiritually and artistically. I am allowing more time for myself and the pursuit of my artistic spirit, both behind the lens and working in more traditional graphite and inks. The bright colors of the inks appeal to a part of myself that I have not allowed to flourish for so long, but with support from my family and my professors, I am seeing a gradual blossoming of style as my mastery of technique grows.
